In July 1998, Marco & Janice purchased a piece of property not far from Secret Garden Statuary,
Inc. They had owned a
townhouse, and it seemed they disappointed customers who expected them to have a fantastic
yard. The yard project started at the end of February 1999 when Marco became a Bobcat
Cowboy and land-scraped the back yard. Two years later, the front got its
makeover. Marco & Janice utilize items they make and sell, giving them a far
greater knowledge of the products' capabilities and limitations. We include some
garden design tips to spark others' creativity. (Marco & Janice realize they
probably broke EVERY Northwest landscape design rule, but hey, it's their yard!)
Thanks to all customers and compatriots who have helped and guided!
The following photos show "before" and "after". We will
update these photos as growth progresses. Work inside and around the house itself is
also in progress. Look for fireplace, countertops and exterior details!

Back before--Late Feb. '99
Landscraping has
begun!
It's taking shape.
Grass & Privet added.
Beignet enjoying the pond.
Cobblestone
walks.
July 2000--What a jungle!
View to the lower level.
Front yard before---June 2000. "Brickcrete" fence & Wall Fountain.
Back Yard 2001:
May 2001. The ivy has taken over the retaining wall.

Plant growth softens the hard corners and brings it all together.
Front Yard 2001:
Two views of the completed "Fancy Fence". The 45
degree corner treatment with fountain adds a special touch.
Modular pond blocks create raised beds. Edging stones
define areas. Yard balls lend whimsy. Smaller statues placed among
plantings create visual surprises. (The three cherubs were damaged items,
and the wisteria--about 50 years old-- was rescued from a county park demolition
project.)
Backyard 2003:

Finnegan greets visitors at the Festa, Inc. custom-designed gates to our little
paradise. We feature Festa, Inc. gates
and garden ornaments at Secret Garden/Lucioni Arts. Custom orders welcome!

Lush and lovely!
Backyard 2004:

Two beautiful views of garden. Isn't it amazing what can happen in a
mere five years? (Gotta love Miracle Grow®!)

Detail shots of Apollo, Venus and the memorial to Lacey, one of our beloved
Standard Poodles.

This "Garden in the Nighttime Snow" shot was too pretty to omit.
Add a touch of whimsy to make you smile. Gardens are supposed to be fun!
